Top Gun Maverick "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins

If there is ever a song that goes directly hand and hand with a series of movies it is most notably "Danger Zone" and the Top Gun franchise. While there may be only two movies in the Top Gun franchise both of the films include the same exact song with essentially the same purpose of using the song. The song "Danger Zone" is a hit from the eighties and is most notably included in the original Top Gun. Now while the actual use of this song in the second movie of the franchise is short lived it still serves a purpose and is one of the few songs that wasn't made for the movie but still is played in both films. This is very rare because most songs that are played across multiple movies are usually made for that style of movie or for that movie specifically. The actual use of this song comes at the very beginning of the movie and is featured in a montage like start for the movie. This is essentially the same way that the song was used in the first movie as well. This was just a pure dose of nostalgia for viewers in theaters that grew up watching the original top gun and I'm sure that they thoroughly enjoyed that. When this song is used in this film it is essentially a love letter to aviation and all of its components involved. Nothing gets your blood pumping faster then a beefy guitar solo with kick drums and then seeing a bunch of f-18 Super Hornets taking off from an aircraft carrier. Truly a unique and amazing way to use and re use one song in a franchise of movies that isn't scared to go a little old school.
